The Vernon & District Family History Society's Resource Centre Hours.

Regular Hours:

  • Tuesday 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. & 7 p.m.- 9 p.m.
  • Wednesday 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  • Saturday 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Summer Hours Begin June 19:

  • Wednesday: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  • Saturday: 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

No appointment is neccesary. A Resource Centre Volunteer will be on hand to provide assistance should you need it.

WHY WE ARE HERE!

The Vernon & District Family History Society  was formed in 1982 to serve as a focus for persons in the community interested in genealogy.

The purpose of this website is to provide information to our members and individuals interested in genealogy in the Vernon area.

The purpose of this Society is:

  1. To encourage and instruct members in the ethical principals, scientific methods and effective techniques of genealogical research.
  2. To collect and preserve information, books, manuscripts, typescripts, charts, maps, photographs, microfilms, and related material relevant to such genealogical study and performance.
  3. To publish and distribute books, bulletins and other printed material as may from time to time be desirable to further the foregoing objects of the society.
  4. To raise funds and, in so doing, to accept grants, donations, gifts, legacies and bequests for any of the foregoing objects and, in accordance with the condition that the Society shall be operated without the purpose of gain for its members, and any profits of or other accretions to the Society shall be used in promoting these objects.
